Traffic Law

The Law Office of Matthew T. Singer handles traffic tickets or citations all over the state of Missouri in Municipal and Circuit Courts.  It is important to contact us right away once you have been issued a citation because you are only allowed a limited amount of time to respond or a warrant may be issued for your arrest and you may lose your right to appeal.

We handle cases ranging from Felony and Federal DWI to speeding and no proof of insurance.   We have successfully defended client’s driving privileges after wrongfully being charged with DWI.  Although past results in no way guarantee future outcomes of cases it is important to choose an attorney who knows what it takes to win a case of this nature both criminally and administratively.  Whether you are charged with rolling a stop sign or DWI it is important that you contact our office immediately when you are issued a citation to find out your rights. Some people are not aware that you can fight a traffic ticket and in many cases have it amended or “fixed.”  There are many reasons to have a traffic ticket fixed including not letting your parent/child/spouse know you were speeding again but the three main reasons people choose to have their tickets fixed are:

1.To avoid points on their license-In the State of Missouri if you accumulate too many points in a set period of time your license may be revoked.  Points accumulate much quicker than you would think and you can lose your license in as little as one traffic stop so it is important to keep points off of your license as much as possible.

2.To keep insurance costs down-If your insurance company finds out you have been convicted of or have plead guilty to a traffic violation they will likely raise your monthly or yearly rates.  Additional premiums from the insurance company can often be avoided by having the ticket fixed.

3.Keeping a clean driving record-Having a ticket fixed can keep your driving record clean of moving violations which is important if you have a CDL or drive for a living.  It is also important because future employers and others can use a negative driving record to imply recklessness or irresponsibility on the part of the driver.
